Homo Sapiens
Swimming in the sea
Mentally asleep
Unaware of all the dangers lurking at my back
Swallowed by the deep
Waters that will keep me down and
pull me off my track
I see
That I’m too terrified to be
Or not to be
But a gratitude embraces me
And lightens up my mind
We’re all homo sapiens
With stories to be kept alive
Stuck inside the dark
Corners of the park
Looking at the feet that got me out and brought me here
Swallowed by the night
Waiting for the light
I fill my lungs with dusty air
I see
All the life that is here for me
And I am free
And a gratitude embraces me
And lightens up my mind
We’re all homo sapiens
With stories to be kept alive
I know what I want and
How I want it all to be
Someone told me not to wish for
unnecessites
You know what I want and what will make me happy
When I give my love away
Makes my heart at ease
